Charles Pinckney National Historic Site
Mount Pleasant, SC
This site preserves a remnant of Charles Pinckney's 18th-century coastal plantation, Snee Farm. Pinckney was a principal author and signer of the U.S. Constitution, and the site explores his life, the plantation system, and the lives of enslaved African Americans who worked there.
Counter-Narrative
The myth this site refutes: that enslaved and oppressed people accepted their condition. Every stone here is evidence of refusal.
