Bridge the Diaspora
Bridge the Diaspora is an independent educational project developed by Lela Harris. Inspired by her family's history and a lifelong interest in African, African American, and diaspora studies, the platform was created to help learners explore the people, places, events, and ideas that connect communities across the Atlantic world.
The curriculum combines original educational content with carefully curated resources from historians, educators, museums, archives, cultural institutions, and expert content creators. Featured videos and external resources are selected to bring learners directly to the people and organizations whose scholarship informs our understanding of history and culture.
Artificial intelligence is used as a research, development, and educational support tool throughout the platform. AI assists with tasks such as content organization, lesson development, exercise generation, and interactive learning experiences. However, Bridge the Diaspora does not treat AI-generated content as a substitute for historical scholarship. The platform is built upon published research, primary sources, expert perspectives, and ongoing human review.
History is an ongoing process of discovery and interpretation.
