Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac
Paris, France, France
Opened in Paris in 2006, the musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac holds some 300,000 works from Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas, with extensive holdings from former French West Africa and Madagascar. Its searchable online collection database makes much of the African collection accessible worldwide.
Counter-Narrative
The myth this site refutes: that African American cultural production was derivative. Jazz, blues, and hip-hop are among America's only original art forms.
