The British Museum
Founded in 1753 in London, the British Museum's Sainsbury African Galleries hold more than 200,000 African objects, including the Benin Bronzes, Ife bronze-casting traditions, masquerade art, and the Throne of Weapons made from decommissioned firearms from Mozambique's civil war. The museum offers a virtual visit to more than 60 galleries, including its Africa galleries with Google Street View.
Counter-Narrative
The myth this site refutes: that African American cultural production was derivative. Jazz, blues, and hip-hop are among America's only original art forms.
